Kenya issued a warning on the Sofia contraceptive pill.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) of Kenya has cautioned consumers not to use the Sofia oral contraceptive pill.

The tablet is thought to be circulating on the Kenyan market and is said to be substandard, posing a significant risk to the public's health and safety.

Sofia "is not authorised for usage or distribution in Kenya," according to PPB CEO Dr Siyoi in a statement.
